Setting goals and accountability

When you get challenged as an individual about where you’re at and what you’re doing, it’s usually because of a lack of focus or a lack of clarity on your goals.

We see a lot of people set goals but fail to achieve them. So how do you remain on track and set goals that you remain accountable for?

To do this, first we need to stop and think about our long-term objective of where we want to be in five years, and then decide what we need to do to break it down into what we want to do over the next 12 months. These goals should be broken into categories:

  • Physical
  • Emotional
  • Spiritual
  • Financial

What do we want to do?

Next, ask yourself, what does achievement actually look like for you?

The next step is breaking down each of your goals in order to become more emotionally connected to what the goal is going to look like. What are the daily actions that are required to get you there?

Most people don’t have any issues around doing the daily actions. Instead they have trouble focusing on what it is that they actually want.
